1. Who We Are
Fentech Limited is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and in the course of providing our services.
- Business name: Fentech Limited
- Address: County Roscommon, Ireland
- Email: info@fentech.ie
- Phone: 085 165 0606
- VAT No: IE 4191817LH Ireland
2. What Data We Collect
Information you give us directly
- Name and contact details (email, phone number) when you use our contact form, call us or email us
- Your county, and, if you choose to tell us, how you found Fentech. The contact form also notes which page you were on before it (or the website that linked you here) and any advert tag in the link, so we know which pages and adverts actually bring enquiries. This is sent with your message only; nothing is stored on your device
- Business name and address for invoicing purposes
- Device information (make, model, serial number) when you bring in a device for repair
- Any information you include in messages or enquiries to us
Information collected automatically
- Aggregate website analytics through our self-hosted Plausible service — such as pages visited, referrer, approximate country, device type and browser. Plausible does not use cookies or create personal visitor profiles.
- IP address and browser information collected by our hosting provider (Bluehost) in server logs
- Optional third-party embed data only when you choose to load content such as YouTube or Instagram
Information we do NOT collect
- We do not store payment card details — all card payments are processed by Stripe, PayPal or Revolut under their own privacy policies
- We do not collect sensitive personal data (health, religion, political views etc.)
- We do not collect data from children under 16
3. Why We Collect It (Legal Basis Under GDPR)
We process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contract performance: To provide the services you have requested — repairs, IT support, web design etc. Without basic contact information we cannot deliver our services.
- Legitimate interests: To respond to enquiries, send invoices, follow up on outstanding jobs, and improve our services. We balance this against your privacy interests.
- Legal obligation: To comply with Irish tax law, including retaining invoices and financial records for the required period.
- Consent: For marketing communications, if you have opted in. You can withdraw consent at any time.
4. How Long We Keep Your Data
- Client records and invoices: 7 years — required by Irish Revenue for tax compliance
- Repair records: 2 years after the repair, in case of follow-up queries
- Contact form submissions: 12 months, then deleted unless an ongoing relationship has been established
- Email correspondence: 3 years
- Website analytics: Aggregate Plausible statistics are retained only to understand long-term site performance; they contain no cookie identifiers or personal visitor profiles
- Newsletter list: Until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent. Unconfirmed signups — where the confirmation link was never clicked — are deleted automatically after 30 days.
After the relevant retention period, data is securely deleted.
4a. The Newsletter
The Tip of the Month newsletter is sent on the basis of consent, and that consent is collected by double opt-in: after you enter your address you receive one email containing a confirmation link, and nothing further is sent unless you click it. The click, its date and time, and the IP address it came from are recorded as the proof of consent that GDPR and the Irish ePrivacy Regulations (S.I. 336/2011) require.
- We collect only your email address. A name is not requested and is not required.
- Your address is never sold, rented, swapped or supplied to a third party for their own marketing.
- Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately, with no login, no confirmation step and no survey.
- You may instead email info@fentech.ie and ask to be removed, or ask for the address to be erased entirely rather than kept on a suppression list.
- Subscribing to the newsletter is entirely separate from being a customer. Unsubscribing has no effect on any work being done for you, and being a customer does not put you on the list.
5. Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following third parties, and only to the extent necessary to deliver our services:
- Xero — invoicing and accounting software. Your name, email and billing address are stored in Xero for invoice purposes. Xero's privacy policy applies.
- Plausible Analytics — self-hosted at analytics.fentech.ie for aggregate, cookieless website usage statistics. It does not create personal visitor profiles.
- Formspree — contact form submissions are processed through Formspree and forwarded to our email.
- Brevo (Sendinblue, France) — our newsletter platform. If you subscribe, your email address, the date and time you confirmed, and delivery statistics such as whether an email was opened are stored there so that the newsletter can be sent and unsubscribes honoured automatically. Brevo is EU-based, so newsletter data stays within the EEA.
- Cloudflare — our website and DNS are managed through Cloudflare, which may process request data as part of its security and performance services.
- Payment processors — Stripe, PayPal, Revolut and GoCardless process payments under their own privacy policies. We do not store payment details.
- Bluehost — our website hosting provider, based in the USA. Standard web server logging applies.
All third parties are required to handle your data in compliance with GDPR. Where data is transferred outside the EEA (e.g. to US-based services), appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) are in place.
We may disclose data to law enforcement or regulatory authorities if required by law.
6. Cookies & Analytics
This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies of its own. It uses the following browser storage and optional third-party content:
- Local browser storage: Theme preference, privacy choice and dismissed seasonal notices stay in your browser and are not sent to Fentech as cookies.
- Plausible analytics: Aggregate usage measurement that does not use cookies or persistent personal identifiers.
- Optional embeds: YouTube, Instagram or similar providers may set their own cookies only if you choose to load embedded content.
We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing pixels or cross-site tracking. See the Cookie Policy for the plain-English details.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not prevent you from using this website.
7. Your Rights Under GDPR
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@fentech.ie. We will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for making a request.

8. How We Protect Your Data

- This website is served over HTTPS with TLS encryption
- Security headers (HSTS, CSP, X-Frame-Options) are configured on our web server
- Access to client records is restricted to Fentech staff only
- Third-party services are selected for their security standards and GDPR compliance
